Obituary of Enrique Garcia, Jr.
Services for Enrique Garcia, Jr., 80, of Bridgeport will be 10:30 am Thursday, June 21, 2018 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Bridgeport, officiated by Father Thomas Dsouza. Burial will follow in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bradley McBride, Erick McBride, Wayne Williams, Santos Reyes, Kyle Gannon, and David Garcia. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 20 from 6-8 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Rosary will begin at 7 pm. Enrique passed away Saturday, June 16 in Denton.
Enrique was born May 10, 1938 in Mission, Texas to Enrique Garcia Briseno and wife Esther (Gutierrez). Enrique loved being out on the open road, hauling rock all over the DFW area. He owned and operated Garcia Trucking company for over 40 years in Bridgeport. Home for Enrique was always Bridgeport; he considered it the land of opportunity.
He married Ophelia Reyes December 22, 1957 in Colorado City, Texas. He was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Ophelia Garcia of Bridgeport; son Enrique ‘Henry’ Garcia III and wife Thelma of Lewisville, Texas; daughters Terry Garcia Gannon and husband Thomas of Denton, Texas, and Estelle Williams and husband Wayne of Volo, Illinois; grandchildren Bradley McBride, Erick McBride, Christine Gannon, and Kyle Gannon; great-grandchildren Rebecca McBride, Trinity Williams, Rylie and Reese McBride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jose Antonio Garcia, and sister Maria Elisa Cervantes.
