


Obituary of Don Cooke
Services for Don Marcus Cooke, 76, of Bridgeport will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Twin Oaks Assembly of God in Bridgeport, officiated by Lenda Tedder. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery #1 in Decatur. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, September 14 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Don passed away Friday, September 10 in Decatur.
He was born December 11, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to Harold and Marjorie (Duffey) Cooke.
After serving our country in the US Marine Corps Don worked as a police officer in Fort Worth. He later worked as a security guard for several years with Pancho the police dog.
The family later moved to Cundiff where Don worked in the oilfield for Haliburton.
After moving to Bridgeport, Don worked as a truck driver for many years.
Anyone who knew Don loved him, and he will be greatly missed.
Don is survived by children Dedie Wall-Brown of Idaho, Mark Cooke and wife Sharon of Bridgeport, Keith Cooke of Bridgeport, and Nickole Cooke of Alvord; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Carroll) Cooke, parents, and sister Nancy Dean Alexander.
