Tommy was born October 24, 1937, in Stamford, Texas to Winifred & Ethel (Burns) Dugan. He graduated Paradise High School in 1956. Tommy drove trucks most of his life and retired from Modern Welding in 1999 as shop foreman. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding motorcyles. He loved fishing and camping so much, he bought lake lots at Nocona Lake and for many years to come, weekends and vacations were spent at the lake. He taught all his children, nieces, and nephews how to water ski and spent many hours gliding across the lake. He is remembered as having the fastest belt in the west when the kids got out of line. If you ever heard that belt sound, you knew you were in trouble.
In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, going on walks and living a simpler life. He loved getting chocolate shakes on Saturdays so much, they lovingly called it ‘Shake Saturday’.
He is survived by daughters, Sherry Dugan of Chico, and Beverly Dugan Caperna & husband Darren of Garland; brother, James Dugan & wife Penny of Grand Saline; sister, Nancy Nichols of Cooper; grandchildren, Dan Baxter & wife Holly of Garland, Jennifer Sauceman of Alba, Kyle Dugan & wife Tiffany of Kemp, Amber Geib & husband John of Combine, Ashley Dugan of Seagoville, Michael Dugan of Chico; 12 great grandchildren; his beloved dog, Princess; and a host of family and friends.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Faye Dugan; sons, Doug Dugan, and Dwayne Dugan; and sister Mary Haynes.
