Obituary of Camille Michalski
Camille Buck Michalski, 75, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2021, in a nursing home located in Decatur, Texas after struggling with years of dementia. She was a long-time resident of Lake Villa, Illinois.
She started her teaching career in 1968 and retired in 2005. She spent her lengthy tenure as an educator and assistant principal in Illinois. Mrs. Michalski was well respected and admired as a junior high social studies teacher. This was certainly most evident by the way the students, parents, colleagues, and administrator interacted with her throughout her lengthy tenure as educator. Along with her expertise and passion for teaching, Camille shared her artistic talents with her students. She always encouraged them to be accountable, artistic, and creative. The results of her efforts were students whose academic projects were extremely unique and beautiful. Her accomplishments as a master teacher were numerous. However, she will be remembered very fondly by many children as “my favorite teacher”.
Camille is survived by her husband of 43 years, Thaddus; nephews, Randy Jelinski & wife Teri of Pueblo, CO, Steven Jelinski & wife Isabelle of McLean, VA; nieces, Cherlyn Wegrzyn Flor & husband Peter of Paradise, TX, and Godchild Kimberly Jelinski of Spring, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and nephews, Michael and Ronald Wegrzyn.
