Obituary of Jeanell Cole

Graveside services for Jeanell Cole, 71, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 10:00 am Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Bridgeport’s Eastside Cemetery, officiated by Jason Hilliard. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday, November 8 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Jeanell passed away October 29 in St. George, Utah.

She was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Marlin and Ima Jean (Culwell) Lewis on August 15, 1950.

Jeanell spent her career as a high school math teacher at Bridgeport ISD. She loved teaching and found creative ways to help her students have a love for math. She created and led math teams in competitions all over the State and accumulated over 300 state trophies, particularly in her last five years of teaching. Jeanell was an amazing teacher.  She was respected and loved by her students. She taught the parents and their children. Most of the town knew and loved this lady.

In her younger years, Jeanell coached girls basketball.

She loved her years on the ranch since she loved animals and rode horses and barrel raced as a teen.

Jeanell was a friend to all. She could carry on an interesting conversation with anyone, be it a child or an adult. She accepted and appreciated everyone and could see the good in them.

She was very artistic and loved to sew. She created many unique gifts for friends and sold items to many.  Jeanell moved to St. George after the passing of her sister Jearene.  Her flower garden and decorated home were the envy of her friends in Utah.

Jeanell is survived by one sister, Sheree Jones of Dublin, Texas, and her nieces and nephews Alicia James and husband Doug, Ash Wilmon,  Mike Rawlins, Jr., and Meg Hilliard and husband Jason. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Cole, sister Jearene Hightower, and brother ‘Butch’ Lewis.

We know she won't be resting in peace. She will be out and about enjoying family reunions and visiting with everybody there.

We will miss you till we meet again.
